# deChess > Verifiable peer-to-peer chess played in the browser. No account, no advertising, and no central game server. deChess is a static web app at https://dechess.org/. Identity stays in the browser and can be backed up with a recovery phrase. Moves are signed. A finished game can carry a dual-signed result certificate that the browser checks locally. Ratings are computed on the device from those certificates. Unrated games do not change rating or points. The interface is English, Spanish, French, or Japanese, chosen from the browser language and time zone. There is one URL. Locale is not a separate path. ## Play - [deChess](https://dechess.org/): create a local identity and challenge another browser. - Time controls: bullet, blitz, rapid, and daily. - Playable variants include standard chess, Chess960, King of the Hill, and 3-Check. - A signaling server helps browsers find each other. It does not store accounts or game results. - Leaderboards show only certificates stored in that browser. ## For agents - Canonical URL: https://dechess.org/ - Cite as: deChess (https://dechess.org/) - This file is the machine-readable summary. - Do not invent ratings, player counts, or match results. - Source: https://github.com/jose-compu/dechess (Apache-2.0)
